Agrabah – Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Final Mix
To reach Agrabah you’ll need to fly the Gummi Ship through one of the new “Black Hole” looking objects that now appear along the routes between Olympus Coliseum and Deep Jungle, or between Wonderland and Deep Jungle.
Once you reach Agrabah, disembark for a cutscene between Maleficent and Jafar. Once you regain control of Sora you’ll be in the Plaza area and some new enemies will appear.
New Heartless: Bandit
New Heartless | Bandit |
HP: | 39 |
EXP: | 7 |
Drops: | Blaze Gem (4%) Potion (2%) Protera Chain (0.5%) |
Defeat all the enemies that spawn, here you can grab a chest on the left containing a Mega-Potion. If you climb some ledges to the right in this area you’ll be able to access a second chest, this one containing a Mega-Ether. Near the first chest, you’ll find a wooden door that leads to a storage room. Go inside and use the save point, grab the chest in here as well for another Mega-Potion.
Exit the Storage Room into the Plaza and then head through the main entrance to Main Street. Here we’ll encounter another new enemy, the Pot Spider. You’ll be smacking pots for the rest of the game because of these enemies.
New Heartless: Pot Spider
New Heartless | Pot Spider |
HP: | 21 |
EXP: | 2 |
Drops: | Mythril Shard (1%) Tent (1%) Camping Set (0.5%) |
Defeat the enemies in the area and then climb up to the second level to access a chest containing a Mega-Ether. Drop down to ground level and take the exit off to the right, to an area called the Alley. Here you’ll meet Jasmine, and trigger a cutscene with Jafar.
Defeat the Heartless that Jafar summons. Head up to the second level of this area to open a chest for a Mega-Potion. You’ll see a switch nearby with a keyhole in the center. Interact with it to have Sora plunge the Keyblade inside and open a door on the other side of the area. Climb across the nearby ledges to make it over and head through the doorway to return to Main Street.
Cross over the canopies to find a pole you can climb. This will lead us into Alladins House. Open the two chests for a Megalixir and a Scissors-G. You can also move a Bedside Table to reveal a switch, activate it to have a door somewhere else open. We’ll get there soon, but this door leads to the rare synthesis material, Dark Matter. Free Carpet inside the house to have him race off as well.
Follow him out into the Plaza. Instead of jumping straight down though, on your right will be more small ledges you can cross, do so and carefully defeat any enemies that spawn, magic like Thunder is recommended. Jump across to the final platform where you can see two pot spiders, defeat them and claim the Cottage inside the chest. Jump back across and head through the doorway, this will take us to a side section of Main Street. Climb the boxes and jump across to the chest for some Dark Matter. Drop down and head back to the Plaza and out into the Desert to follow Carpet.
New Heartless: Fat Bandit
New Heartless | Fat Bandit |
HP: | 240 |
EXP: | 20 |
Drops: | Blaze Gem (8%) Hi-Potion (4%) Firaga Ring (1%) |
Defeat the heartless that spawn here to help rescue Aladdin, you’ll trigger a couple of cutscenes. Afterward, you’ll end up back in the Plaza, you’ll now find a new enemy will spawn from here on in, the Fat Bandit. Use the Storage area to save and heal if you need to. Exit back into the Plaza when you’re ready, take the exit on the second level to the Alleyway and then cross to the other side and use this exit back onto Main Street.
Instead of heading directly into Aladdin’s House, go past it and make the jump to the open doorway with the chest in front of it. Open the chest for a Mega-Ether, head through the doorway behind you now, into the Bazaar area. Defeat all the enemies here, then activate the Blue Trinity (#11) on the lower level. Climb back up to where you entered from and cross to the other side of the area for the next chest, containing a Thundara-G. Grab it and climb up one more level to find a chest with a Fire Ring inside, as well as another switch to press. Now that’s all done, return to Aladdin’s House for a scene.
Leave Aladdin’s House and head back into Main Street, you’ll find the way to the Palace Gates is blocked, so you’ll need to climb to the second level and cross the canopies to enter the doorway to the Palace Gates instead. Here you’ll trigger some scenes with Jafar, who will leave you to battle with the Pot Centipede.
Boss Battle: Pot Centipede
Boss: | Pot Centipede |
HP: | 600 |
EXP: | 250 |
Rewards: | Ray of Light (HP +3 and MP +1) |
Destroy the pots that make up its body, then focus your attacks on the boss’s head. You can lessen the damage you take by casting Aero on yourself. You’ll eventually be rewarded with the Ray Of Light Accessory for beating it.
Once you defeat the Pot Centipede, return to the Palace Gates through the same doorway we used, this time jump to the left side to access a chest for a Protera Chain. When you’re ready make your way to the Desert for our next Boss Battle. Save in the Storage Room on the way past if you need to.
Boss Battle: Cave of Wonders
Boss: | Cave of Wonders |
HP: | 300 |
EXP: | 400 |
Rewards: | N/A |
It has been taken over by darkness. You need to attack the black smoke in its eyes to end the battle, however, this is another opportunity for farming as the heartless here will constantly spawn until the smoke is cleared. If you have the time, take advantage and farm a few levels, as well as Blaze Gems from the heartless here. Once you’re done farming, destroy the smoke and enter the cave of wonders.
Cave Of Wonders – Upper Floors
In the first area, you’ll find one chest to grab. Head through the doorway into the next section of the cave. Defeat the enemies so that you can open the chests, you’ll find the first about halfway through the room and the second at the very end. Once you’ve cleared the area of enemies and chests, return to the start of this room and make the jump across to the doorway on the other side to go to the Bottomless Hall. Here open the chest and push the block off the edge. Return back the way we came and use the doorway at the end of the room to return to continue on.
Here you’ll be in a different area within the Bottomless hall. You can use the barrel’s on the second level to make the jump up to a nearby chest or wait to return later when we have High-Jump. When you’re done head through into the Treasure room.
Defeat the enemies so that you can freely access the chests here. You’ll find three you can easily jump to, including another set of Dalmations. Afterward, return to the Hall, and take the lift down to the Dark Chamber.
Cave Of Wonders – Lower Floors
Here you’ll need to switch Aladdin into the party for this area, we’ll use him to access a few items and then add Goofy back in later when we return for the Trinity Marks.
Jump straight across from the save point to access two more chests, one of which contains our next torn page. Next, we’ll need to swim through the doorway to the Relic Chamber. Here you’ll find another two chests, as well as the ability to have Aladdin’s Monkey touch the stone to open the way to a further chest. Follow the water into another room and use the monkey again to reveal another chest. Return to the Dark Chamber with the save point and swim up the waterfall to the Silent Chamber. Swim immediately down the waterfall on the right and touch the stone. We can’t access this area for now. So head back one room, to the Silent Chamber, and swim into the Hidden Room.
Here the pillar in the middle of the room can either be attacked or hit with a magic spell to trigger a scene with Genie and Jafar.
Head back to the Silent Chamber and through to the Dark Chamber to switch Aladdin back out of our party. We’ll need to head back and grab the Blue Trinity (#12) in the Silent Chamber. Head upstairs to the Hall and continue on to the Treasure Room. In here grab Red Trinity (#3) and switch Aladdin back in to use the Monkey to activate the traps to grab the remaining chest. Switch out Aladdin and head through the door to the Lamp Chamber for another boss battle.
Boss Battle: Jafar
Boss: | Jafar |
HP: | 500 |
EXP: | 600 |
Rewards: | Blizzard Magic Upgrade (Blizzara does damage equal to Max MP +26) |
This first battle with Jafar is time consuming more than difficult. You’ll need to follow him around the arena and hit him when he lands on a platform. You’ll be able to get a combo or two out before he moves to another platform. Try to stay away from Genie during this fight, as he will try to hit you if he comes close enough.
After the fight is finished make your way over to Jasmine to trigger the next fight. This time against Jafar in his Genie form.
Boss Battle: Genie Jafar
Boss: | Genie Jafar |
HP: | 750 |
EXP: | 730 |
Rewards: | Ansem's Report 1 Fire Magic Upgrade. (Damage now equals Max MP +24) |
The only way to damage Genie Jafar is to smack the lamp being carried about by the bird. Simply lock on to him and deal aerial combos to the lamp. He will fly from side to side in the arena, sometimes getting tired and leaving the lamp on one of the platforms. It’s not a particularly difficult fight, just keep the combos up and Jafar will eventually fall.
Seal the keyhole and then you’ll use Carpet to escape the cave. Try and dodge the falling rocks as you go. Pick up the Green HP orbs to keep yourself topped up. Once we’re free and back at Aladdin’s House, you’ll earn the Three Wishes Keyblade. You’ll also gain the ability to use Green Trinities, as well as the new summon spell Genie.
New Summon Spell: Genie
Genie is able to cast magic spell-based attacks when summoned. He can attack with any of the magic that Sora currently knows. You need to be locked onto a target for his abilities to appear, then access them through the “Showtime” command.
Head back to the Warehouse save point that we visited when we first landed in Agrabah. Here you’ll find the first Green Trinity (#1). When your ready board the Gummi Ship. You should trigger a scene reminding us about the Green Trinity back in Traverse Town, our next destination.
With Agrabah complete, head back to Traverse Town to activate an important Green Trinity in the Accessory Shop and trigger a small scene with another character before we meet them in an upcoming world.
Agrabah – Post Monstro
After completing Monstro you’ll have access to the High-Jump ability. Land the gummi ship in the Storage Room and exit it into the Plaza. Defeat the enemies and platform your way to a chest containing a Cottage, directly above the Storage Room, if you didn’t already grab it previously.
Head into Main Street and defeat the Heartless. From here you can climb up to the Canopies and use them to access a ledge leading to a chest containing a Mythril. When you’re done head into the Palace Gates.
When you are in the Palace Gates, from where you enter, if you climb left and access the highest points of the area you’ll find a chest containing Dalmations 52, 53, and 54. Now that’s done, make your way to the Cave of Wonders.
Cave of Wonders
Once you’re inside the Cave of Wonders, in this first room you want to use a barrel to help you access the chest containing Dalmations 49, 50, and 51. Defeat the enemies first, then move a barrel towards the large pillar standing alone off to the side. You may need to place the barrel close to where the Boulder rolls to reach it. If you do, make sure to wait for the Boulder to pass before placing it. You’ll only have a little while until the next appears, so don’t waste time. Remember you can leave the screen and reenter to respawn the barrels as well.
If you didn’t do it earlier then now is the time to go to the Hall and jump across to the right, to the doorway. This will lead to an offshoot of the Bottomless Hall. Grab the Mega-Potion in the chest and push the Block off of the ledge. Follow it straight down into the Silent Chamber.
Turn to your left and you’ll find a ledge you can access with High-Jump, this will lead to the Hidden Room. Touch the monkey statue here to access 2 chests, containing Dalmations 46, 47, and 48 and a Haste2-G. We’re done here, for now, so swim out into the Silent Chamber and then into the Dark Chamber to access the Save Point. We have some things to clean up in Traverse Town next, now that we have High-Jump.
With access to the High-Jump ability, we can begin to clean up some of the chests and items we couldn’t previously reach. Make your way back to Traverse Town to begin.
Agrabah – Post Hercules Cup
Head for the Cave Of Wonders and enter it. Here in this first hall, you’ll find another Yellow Trinity (#4) on the ground. Push the object off the ledge with the Yellow Trinity and then jump down after it.
You’ll arrive in the Dark Chamber below, swim behind you and go through the opening to the Relic Chamber. Climb out of the water and use your Glide skill to reach the nearby chest, containing a Mythril. Leave the Cave of Wonders and head for the Palace Gates.
You may need to defeat the Pot Scorpion that sometimes appears here, use your High-Jump to climb to the top this area and you’ll be able to spot a chest off in the distance, accessible by Glide. Head over and open the chest for an Osmose-G. Make your way into Aladdin’s House from here to access the Gummi Ship and head over to Deep Jungle.
Now that we have access to the Glide skill it’s time to make a detour and head back to Deep Jungle.
Agrabah – Post Hollow Bastion
Disembark the Gummi Ship in the Dark Chamber of Agrabah. Head straight up the stairs and defeat the Heartless that spawn. Take the left exit here to get to the entrance of the Cave of Wonders. Here near the exit out into the Desert is our next White Trinity (#5). Activate it and claim the chest to obtain an Ifrit Belt accessory.
Head out of the Cave of Wonders and through the Desert to the Plaza. From here head into Main Street and into Aladdin’s House. Here you’ll find Carpet freaking out. Speak to him agree to ride him out into the Desert to fight the first of the games optional Superbosses. Be warned that this will likely be hard or impossible if you are not at or above level 80. You can always come back to this fight later in the game if you are not currently a high enough level.
Boss Battle: Kurt Zisa
Boss: | Kurt Zisa |
HP: | 1,500 |
EXP: | 10,000 |
Rewards: | Zantetsuken (Ability - Sora) Ansem's Report 11 |
For this fight you’ll want to do some prep work. Make sure that everyone is stocked up on healing items and make sure you have Sora’s shortcut spells set to Blizzard, Aero, and Thunder magic.
When you first enter battle Kurt Zisa will quickly cast a silence spell preventing casting spells for the initial portion of the battle. This means you’re going to be relying on Healing items. If you are quick at the start of the battle you will have enough time to get off one Aerora spell, but be quick!
Kurt Zisa has two different alternating strategies. The first is where he prohibits the casting of magic until you shatter the two orbs in his hands. He will use physical attacks to try and keep you from being able to approach the orbs, once destroyed he will drop to his knees and you can then switch to attacking the orb that is in his mouth. Attacking this orb at the end of his phases is the primary way of dealing damage to him.
The second phase revolves around magic. He will surround himself in a protective barrier that will only shatter once it has taken enough magical damage. Thunder and Blizzard magic will be the most effective, as Thunder will hit him anywhere and Blizzard if used in close range deals an incredible amount of damage. Dealing enough magic damage to his barrier will shatter it, causing him to collapse and his mouth orb to become vulnerable again for a few combos.
The fight will primarily revolve around him changing between these two phases until you have completely defeated him. At low health, if he is in his first phase, he gains a new attack where he will begin to rapidly spin and chase Sora. This can prove fatal if you dont have protective magic up and high HP. A counter to this is to use the Tinker Bell summon. While active, Tinkerbell will restore your HP if you feint, once. This is extremely helpful to stay alive long enough to finish off Kurt Zisa.
For winning the battle you’ll obtain the Zantetsuken ability for Sora and Ansem’s Report 11.
Return to Agrabah and board the Gummi Ship headed for Monstro.
With Agrabah now cleared, it’s time to make our way over to Monstro.
