Area information for the Feywood of Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age

Walk of Flitting Rifts

Make your way through to the southeastern exit and into the next area, the Walk of Stolen Truths.

Walk of Stolen Truths

From where you entered, follow the northeast edge of the map around and to the east. In one of the northeastern dead-ends here, you’ll find the Map for the Feywood. Grab it and then make your way to the south most exit, into the area called Antiquity’s End.

Antiquity’s End

Be sure to save your game here, you can also zone in and out a few times to make the one-time-only chest near the western exit appear, it contains an Embroidered Tippet. Each time you zone into this area it has roughly a 25% chance of appearing. Once you’re ready, take the south exit into the Redolent Glade for our next Boss Battle.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age - Rafflesia Boss Battle

This Boss will constantly drain all your MP throughout the fight, it’s pointless to try and refill it. Instead, make sure to turn off all your Characters Charge Gambits so that they don’t waste time trying to refill their mana. Replace any status-curing magick with Phoenix Downs and Remedies. If you are really quick at the start of the fight you can get off a Dispel to remove the Boss’s Protective Buffs, or alternatively use a Dispel Mote if you’re out of MP. The Boss can inflict; Confuse, Blind, and Disease. So if you don’t have many Remedies, make sure to set up Gambits that specifically cure those status effects.

Head back to Antiquity’s End to use the Save Point to restore all your HP and MP after the fight, then continue on through the south exit into the area called White Magick’s Embrace.

White Magick’s Embrace

When you enter begin to head south, you’ll find a large ‘hole’ in roughly the center of the map. To the north of this ‘hole’ is a one-time chest containing the Dispelga Magick. In the southeastern dead-end, you’ll find another one-time spawn chest containing a Golden Amulet. Take the south exit into the Ice Field of Clearsight area.

Ice Field of Clearsight

If you follow the eastern wall south down its length you have a chance of encountering three chests which all have the potential to contain gear; Giant’s Helmet, Carabineer Mail, and Chakra Band.

Head to the center of the area for three potential chests including a one-time chest containing a Bubble Belt accessory, the other two can contain a Jade Gown and a Hypnocrown.

Along the northwestern wall as you follow it west you have the chance to find chests containing; Power Vest, Kaiser Shield, and a Power Armlet.

Once you’re done collecting treasures, visit all the shrines in the area, denoted on your map by a kind of star pattern. One of them will have a glowing floor that you can examine. It will tell you that “illusions will guide your way”, lower your camera angle and rotate the camera to look through each of the areas between the pillars. One of them will show an illusionary path. Using your map, if you follow the illusionary path you should arrive at another of the Shrines. You’ll need to repeat this three times total, the last of the three will point you through the south exit and into the next area. Follow it to the area called the Edge of Reason. If you did it wrong, then you’ll be sent back to the start of this area.

The Edge of Reason

Along the eastern wall, you can find two chests containing; a Platinum Dagger and a Defender.

Along the north wall, you can find a Trident and a Deathbringer.

Between the southeastern and southwestern Shrine’s you can find chests containing a Spica and the Reflectga Magick.

Along the southern wall is a chance for chests containing a Morning Star and a Traitor’s Bow.

On the western wall in the very middle is a chance for a chest containing an Ivory Pole.

Exactly the same puzzle continues here, find the Shrine that is first lit up and follow it to two more. This will eventually point you to the gate at the southwestern point of the map. Here if you read the inscription, it will tell you something about a “Gigas”. Luckily you already have one of those. Use one of your characters to summon Belias the Gigas and then interact with the Gate again to have him open the path forward to Giruvegan.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age - Daedalus Boss Battle

You’ll need to set up a Gambit to Dispel the Bosses Haste status, it will keep trying to reapply it during the battle. Daedalus can also inflict Disable with its Pulsar Wave attack, so make sure at least one character is equipped with a Black Belt to resist the Status and has a Gambit to cure it on the other characters. At around 50% health you’ll notice a huge attack speed boost on Daedalus, it can become difficult to out heal the damage it is causing, especially if you’re not removing its Haste. Consider finishing it off with a Quickening Chain if you need to.

Once the battle is over, you’ll spawn a new Waystone, which will take you to the next area.

The Trimahla Water-Steps

Begin by heading south down the ramp in front of you. Activate the Avrio Gate Stone on this platform. Continue to head south down two more platforms.

Here you’ll find a chest containing a Sash. Grab it and activate the nearby Chthes Gate Stone. Head one platform north, then take the northwest path from here to continue.

Take the southwest path from here. The path has no branches from this point so just continue to follow it. At the end of it, will look to be a dead-end, but as you approach you’ll spawn a green bridge to the next area.

The Aadha Water-Steps

Head down the ramp and activate the Paron Gate Stone. Take the more northern of the two exits from this ramp and continue to follow the path until you come to the Parelthon Gate Stone. Activate this, then head back to the platform with the Paron Gate Stone.

From the platform where we activated the Paron Gate Stone, head south. Follow the path to find a one-time chest containing an Aegis Shield, continue down until you come to the next Gate Stone. Activate the Tychi Gate Stone and then follow the path until it branches just before the platform where we activated the Parelthon Gate Stone. Follow the branch to the southwest, as you approach the end of the area you’ll spawn a new green bridge, cross it to arrive in the Haalmikah Water-Steps.

The Haalmikah Water-Steps

You’ll trigger a brief scene as you enter. Afterward, check the north branch of the area for a chest containing Sleepga Magick. Continue down the path to find a Save Crystal and exit to the northwest when you’re ready.

Gate of Fire

The only chest here worth collecting is in the very northeast section of the map and contains an Amber Armlet. The dead-center of this map, when approached will spawn another green bridge that runs out between the two side areas. From where you entered the area you would head west down the stairs and then stick against the northeast wall as you head north, when you’re about halfway up you should spawn the bridge. Cross it to trigger our next Boss Battle.

Boss Battle: Tyrant

Boss:Tyrant
HP:180,428
Elemental Weakness:Ice
Status Effect Weakness:Confuse
Resistances:- Lightning (Absorb)
- Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Dark, Holy (50% Effective)

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age - Tyrant Boss Battle

The Boss will lock your ability to use Tecknicks for this battle, which means you should turn off gambits for Steal, Charge, Expose, and other Tecknicks and any others you may have on. You can set up a character to use Ether’s if MP is getting low instead of Charge, Tyrant is weak against Blizzaga so be sure to abuse this to help bring it down quickly. Protective spells like Protect, Shell, and Bubble are all very useful for this fight so try and keep them up to weaken Tyrant’s damage output.

Head back to the Save Crystal if you need to after the battle. Otherwise, continue on and use the Waystone to arrive in the Great Crystal.
