Bazaar Guide – Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age

The Bazaar is a special store in Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. It is accessed through the Bazaar menu in every shop you enter and new items are added based on Monster Loot that you sell off as you progress through the game. The Bazaar is also one of the best ways to obtain some of the strongest gear in the game.

Important Information Regarding Bazaar Purchases

Once you have sold off the Monster Loot required for a particular Bazaar Item, it becomes available to purchase. Something to note is if, for example, you require 3x Bomb Cores for Weapon X and 4x Bomb Cores for Weapon Y. If you sell 3x Bomb Cores, you’ll unlock Weapon X for purchase at the Bazaar. Purchasing Weapon X would then reset your Bomb Cores held by the Bazaar to 0. You would now need to go and farm 4x more Bomb Cores to unlock Weapon Y for purchase.

Alternatively, if you simply waited to purchase Weapon X until you sold one more Bomb Core, you’d then have both Weapon X & Y available for purchase in your Bazaar. Once they are unlocked they are free now to buy, bypassing the issue highlighted above. Keep this in mind for rare/hard-to-obtain materials, you may want to hold off buying the items they unlock until you know that all the possible combinations are available.

**Keep in mind that if you sell 4x Bomb Cores as in the example above, unlock for purchase something that only requires 1x Bomb Core to create, and then purchase it. This transaction would still reset your Bomb Cores to 0 for the purposes of the Bazaar keeping track of what things you’ve sold to it. This is hugely problematic for rare materials, as you only will want to sell the exact quantity required to forge the item you want and not your entire stash.**

Methods of Obtaining Loot

Obtaining items for the Bazaar usually comes in one of two ways. Stealing is a skill available to several party members and enhanced by the use of the Thief’s Cuffs item. And Poaching, Poaching is another skill that allows you to ‘instakill’ a low (below 10% HP) enemy and obtain an item from it. Poaching is best set up as a Gambit targeting foes below 10% HP. All enemies that can be Poached have a common and a rare drop from the action as well, so keep that in mind.

Bazaar Recipes

Below is a list, broken down by recipe, for all the different items it is possible to unlock and obtain through the Bazaar in Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. I’ll also include the best methods to farm, or places to find the component parts. Please take note that some of the stronger gear will share requirements. So if you’re trying to find something that seems rare or difficult to get, do a quick CTRL+F search to see if the item is required in any other recipes as well.
