Blasphemous Blade Guide
Blasphemous Blade is one of the many Greatswords found in Elden Ring. It scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. It also has the ability to apply Fire damage to its attacks through the use of its Ash of War: Taker’s Flames.
Sacred sword of Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. Remains of the countless heroes he has devoured writhe upon the surface of this blade.
Now they share the same blood, bound together as family. Some HP is restored upon defeating an enemy.
Unique Skill: Taker’s Flames
Raise the sacred sword aloft to set it ablaze with blasphemous flames, then bring it down to fire off a forward blast. The flames steal HP from those they touch.

Blasphemous Blade Information
Weapon Requirements
The Blasphemous Blade requires 22 Strength, 15 Dexterity, and 21 Faith to wield. It begins with a D Scaling in Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. It’s unique Ash of War: Taker’s Flames costs 30 FP to use and inflicts Fire Damage that scales with Faith, while also returning a portion of the damage inflicted to the user.
Ash of War: Taker’s Flames
Due to already having a unique Ash of War, the Blasphemous Blade cannot be infused with a new Ash of War.
The Blasphemous Blade also cannot be infused via Incantations.
Taker’s Flames heals the wielder’s HP by 10% of Max HP + 150HP on each hit.
The damage that Taker’s Flames inflicts is considered pure Fire Magic Damage and only scales with Faith.
If the Mimic Tear Ash is wielding the Blasphemous Blade, it will also heal itself with attacks, and by using Taker’s Flames.
Passive Healing Ability
The Blasphemous Blade has a unique passive ability. It allows its wielder to regain (4% of max HP + 40HP) with each enemy slain.
This passive ability works whether the blade is in your hand or on your back, it also does not need to be the weapon that deals the killing blow.
The passive effect and effects of Taker’s Flames stack with the following other passives; Greathorn Hammer, Serpent God’s Curved Sword, Rykard’s Great Rune, and the Taker’s Cameo.
A common pairing is to use the Sword of Milos with the Blasphemous Blade, this allows you to benefit from HP recovery as well as a FP recovery, Bleed effect, and a debuff to enemies defenses.
Patch Notes
As of Patch 1.09, Greatswords were significantly buffed which has also applied to the Blasphemous Blade.
