Blizzard Blitz Monster Hunter World Iceborne Assignment Quest

Our next Assignment Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is Blizzard Blitz, we’re off to the Hoarfrost Reach to hunt a Barioth. Barioth is one of the new monsters introduced in the Iceborne Expansion and can be quite a tough foe to take on if you are not prepared.

First, you will want to be packing a weapon with White Sharpness as a minimum. Anything lower than that is going to cause you frequent bounces and interruptions when trying to damage this monster.

Barioth is highly mobile and will use this a lot during the fight, you can reduce his ability to get around so well in two ways. One is to bring traps. Bring a lot of traps, and make sure that your Palico is set to have its Flashfly Cage item, as it should be high enough level to allow your Palico to also lay Shock Traps. The second option is to focus your attacks on breaking Barioth’s claws. By breaking its claws you will limit its ability to get around as well on the Ice and give yourself more openings for attacks. As you want to break these quickly consider bringing the “Partbreaker” skill in either gems or your armor.

Barioth uses both physical and Ice elemental damage, so Cold resistance is a must, along with that, consider skills that protect against Ice Blight, or that boost your stamina recovery. Examples include; Resuscitate and Stamina Surge.

Lastly, Flashpods can very helpful if you find Barioth will not give you enough time or space to heal up.
