Cloud’s Limit Breaks

During Final Fantasy VII (FFVII, FF7) Cloud will gain access to a total of seven Limit Breaks to learn. In general, he’ll learn new Limit Breaks by defeating enemies and by using the most recently unlocked Limit Breaks.

Level 1 Limit Breaks

Braver

Cloud begins the game with the Braver Limit Break.

Braver deals damage to one enemy equal to 3x Clouds regular attack damage.

Cross-Slash

The Cross-Slash Limit Break is unlocked after Cloud has used Braver a total of 8 times in battle.

Cross-Slash inflicts 3.25x Clouds regular attack damage and has a small chance to paralyze the enemy as well.

Level 2 Limit Breaks

Blade Beam

The Blade Beam Limit Break is unlocked after defeating a total of 120 enemies in battle.

Blade Beam will shoot a beam of light to the primary target that deals 3.5x Clouds regular attack damage. The beam then splits to hit all other enemies on the field as well, for 1x Clouds regular attack damage.

Climhazzard

The Climhazzard Limit Break is unlocked after using Blade Beam a total of 7 times in battle.

Climhazzard deals damage equal to 4.375x Clouds’ regular attack damage against a single enemy.

Level 3 Limit Breaks

Meteorain

Defeat 200 enemies after obtaining Climhazzard.

Unleashes a total of 6 Meteors randomly on the field. Each Meteor deals 1.625x Clouds regular attack damage and they can strike random enemies.

Finishing Touch

Finishing Touch is obtained after using Meteorain 6 times in battle.

Inflicts the “Instant Death” status on an enemy. If the enemy is immune to the status then it is hit with 3.125x Clouds regular attack in damage.

Level 4 Limit Breaks

Omnislash

Cloud can learn the Omnislash ability from the Omnislash item that is obtained by completing the Battle Square Side Quest.

Omnislash causes Cloud to randomly attack enemies on the field for a total of 15 hits. Each hit deals .75x Clouds’ regular attack damage.

The Slash to end all Slashes Trophy

You’ll also obtain the Slash to end all Slashes Trophy for teaching Cloud Omnislash.
