Food Chain Dominator Special Assignment Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Special Assignment is the Food Chain Dominator Quest. This quest unlocks the new monster Deviljho and adds it to the rotation of monsters you can encounter in Monster Hunter World. Deviljho is slightly unique in that he will also invade your quests and actively hunt both you and whatever other monsters are on the map.

The Deviljho is a frightening presence that takes the idea of the food chain and crush it between its massive jaws! Now it’s here in the New World. It’s time to get investigating!

Eccentric Trio, Client – Monster Hunter World Iceborne

To trigger this quest you’ll need to speak to the Scholar in Astera with the blue (!) above his head, once you are at least past the Pink Rathian Quest. Deviljho has several unique animations in his attacks, the most impressive of which is his ability to pick up smaller monsters and swing them wildly about the area doing damage to the monster as well as any hunter in the way. Doing this to low hp monsters will kill them, which can lead to him then proceeding to eat the corpse. The monsters he can do this to include; Great Jagras, Kula-Ya-Ku, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, Tobi-Kadachi, Odogaron, Great Girros, and Dodogama.

Fun fact it will even eat its own tail if you sever it, better be quick with the carving!

Deviljho is weak to every element but primarily to Thunder and Dragon. Its weak points are the head and belly. You can break or sever its head, belly, and tail.
