Gold Skulltula Locations – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

All 100 Gold Skulltula Locations for Zelda Ocarina of Time

Golden Skulltula Side Quest

Gold Skulltulas are small Golden Spider monsters found in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Destroying these Spiders and collecting the Golden Tokens they leave behind is how you complete the Golden Skulltula Side Quest.

In Kakariko Village you can enter a building called the House of Skulltula, here you’ll find the residents have all been afflicted with a curse and turned into giant Spiders. You’ll learn that the key to returning them to human form is to collect enough of the Golden Tokens to break the curse that was put on them by Gannondorf.

Golden Skulltula Rewards

There are a total of 6 rewards to be gained by collecting the Golden Skulltula Tokens, to start they are unlocked after every ten collected tokens, the final is locked behind collecting all 100 tokens.

10 Golden Skulltulas Reward

Adult Wallet Gold Skulltula Reward – Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

For collecting ten Golden Skulltula Tokens and returning to the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village, Link will be rewarded with an Adults Wallet. This will allow Link to increase his Rupee carrying capacity from 99 to 200. This also allows Link to purchase some of the items that were previously available in shops for more than 99 Rupees.

20 Golden Skulltulas Reward

Shard of Agony Gold Skulltula Reward – Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

Defeating and collecting 20 Golden Skulltula tokens will allow Link to claim an item called the “Stone of Agony” or “Shard of Agony” depending on your version. They both do the same thing though. In the original game, if you had a Rumble Pack for your controller, it would shake when you approached a ‘secret’ in the game. Usually, these ‘secrets’ were in the form of the Underground Grotto’s found littered throughout Hyrule. In remakes and other versions of the game, you will still likely experience some sort of ‘alert’ once you have this item and approach one of the game’s many secrets.

30 Golden Skulltulas Reward

Giants Wallet Gold Skulltula Reward – Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

After defeating 30 Golden Skulltula’s you’ll unlock one of the best rewards, the Giant’s Wallet. This Wallet upgrade allows Link to hold a maximum of 500 Rupees. Dramatically increasing your Rupee holding capacity. This also means that no item in the game cannot be purchased.

40 Golden Skulltulas Reward

40 Tokens will unlock a set of Bombchu’s for Link. These small moving bombs are very limited in their usefulness and also are available in many places in the game, making this one of the more disappointing rewards.

50 Golden Skulltulas Reward

The reward for 50 Gold Skulltula tokens is a Piece of Heart. While this doesn’t feel particularly great, if you are trying to collect all 20 hearts for Link, you’ll require this piece. Making collecting at least the first 50 Gold Skulltula tokens worthwhile.

100 Gold Skulltulas Reward

200 Rupees. Yep, the last guy in the house awards you with 200 Rupees for all your hard work. You can exit and re-enter this house to have him give you the 200 Rupees as many times as you want. Effectively, this gives Link unlimited Rupees. Although you’ll likely be close to the end of the game by now and this will have limited usefulness.
