Monster Hunter World A Fiery Throne Atop The Forest Quest

A Fiery Throne Atop The Forest is the next in a series of Assignment Quests in Monster Hunter World. It requires us to hunt a Rathalos in the Ancient Forest.

Rathalos is the large red dragon you might have run into previously while out on other quests. He is the male counterpart to the Rathian and even appears along with her in some quests.

This quest requires us to slay Rathalos so that we can find out from the First Wyverians about Zorah Magdaros’s next location.

When fighting Rathalos be careful, he has strong fire attacks as well as the ability to inflict poison from his tail or claw swipes.

He can be put to sleep, stunned or paralised to make the fight a little easier if your weapon is capable of inflicting any of those status effects.

His head, wings and body are all breakable. As with many large monsters you can also sever his tail if you deal enough damage to it.

His tendency to fly around constantly can be used against him if you use a flash bomb. It will knock him out of the air and make him vulnerable to attack for a short while.
