Monster Hunter World Invader In The Waste Quest
Invader in the waste is our next Assignment Quest in Monster Hunter World. It involves hunting a Pukei-Pukei in the Wildspire Waste, it’s also our first taste of High-Rank Quests.
Now that we’ve defeated Zorah Magdaros and progressed the story, we receive word of monsters in unusual habitats and stories of stronger versions of monsters. What the game is alluding to is the introduction of High-Rank Quests.
High Rank is where your quests will now take place. Prior to this, we were completing Low-Rank quests. In High-Rank, monsters have higher health amounts and do more damage with their attacks so be careful. We can also carve new items off of High-Rank monsters. This allows us to create far more powerful weapons and armors.
This first quest is to hunt the Pukei-Pukei, but be careful as more powerful monsters will also spawn in. We’ll also get a notification to begin collecting ??? Rathian Tracks from this quest on.
Collect the tracks whenever you get the chance as we need to fill the gauge to progress the story.
High Rank Pukei-Pukei gives the following:
- Pukei-Pukei Carapace, if you break its back
- Pukei-Pukei Wing, for damaging the wings
- Pukei-Pukei Scale +
- Pukei-Pukei Sac +
- Bird Wyvern Gem
Make sure to check out any mining or collection points you come across as they will begin to generate High-Rank items as well.
