Our next Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the Master-Rank quest, The Plight Of Paolumu. We’re off again to the Coral Highlands, this time to take down a Master-Rank Paolumu.

As operations in the Hinterlands expand further, our researchers require gear that is not only well-insulated but comfortable for long hours of fieldwork. I’m interested in having a prototype developed, however, I’ll need some materials before we can start.

Paolumu is weak to Fire and Thunder elements, with slight weaknesses to both Ice, and Dragon. Its weak points are the head and throat, especially while the throat is inflated. Its head, throat, wings, and body are all breakable while the tail is severable.

Paolumu’s biggest strength is its maneuverability while inflated. You can damage its ability to inflate by breaking the air sacs around the throat or by baiting it into deflating by using all the air it stores in its long-range attacks. Remember as well that all ailments work well on Paolumu so take advantage if you have a way of inflicting some of them.
