Once you’ve finished the game, reload your save, which should now have a ‘star’ next to it. Teleport out of Innominat’s Domain and head for the Danann Highway.
Danann Highway
At the northeast exit (Empyrean’s Throne Exit) of the Danann Highway, you’ll find a Katz. Speak to him for a scene and the Skit: What’s A Katz Towel, Meow? Head to Port Zekson from here.
Port Zekson
Now that we’re in the Post Game there are three new Class 4 Zones to unlock. The first is found by speaking to a Pirate near the docks of Port Zekson. This is the Elite Quarter, you’ll also find another Katz Box on each of the islands. Speak to Benwick and head on over, grab the Katz Box and approach the black smoke to begin the battle. For completing this Island you’ll be rewarded with a pair of Adamantine Boots. Make for Reneed next.
Reneed
Here on the bridge between the two area’s you’ll find another Katz, speak to him to find out about the “Harbinger Of The End” and to be told we should definitely not go to Normin Island…
Use the Van Eltia to head to Lionel Wharf next.
Lionel Wharf
Speak to the two pirates here to unlock the next two Class 4 Islands, the Demihuman Quarter and the Undead Quarter.
Head back over to Benwick and take off for the first of the two Islands, the Demihuman Quarter. Here you’ll find a Katz Box and for winning the battles, you’ll be rewarded with a Blood Blade. Head back to Benwick and make your way to the next Island.
The Undead Quarter houses another Katz Box and for winning the battles you’ll be rewarded with a Barrier Ring. If you’ve completed all the Islands now, you’ll also trigger the Skit: Malevolence Without End. Next, make you’re way to Meirchio.
Meirchio
Head inside the city and you’ll find Kamoana near the center of town, approach her for the Skit: Orthie and Russ.
Use your warp to head over to Normin Island next.
Normin Island
Head up the stairs until you find a Green Normin on the right, the Normin called Heerow, speak to him to trigger the Skit: The Former Head Exorcist. Afterward, continue to head to the very top of Normin Island, where you’ll trigger another scene and a Boss Battle.
Boss Battle: Jude & Milla
Boss: | Jude Milla |
HP: | 256,180 284,645 |
Types: | Person Unknown |
Weakness: | Fire Earth |
Rewards: | N/A |
Focus on getting Jude out of the fight first. If you are not at a high level by this point, then this fight will be tough. Try to exploit Jude’s weakness to Fire and his use abilities strong against the human category as well. Once Jude is out, Milla is much easier when alone. Try to keep her stunned as much as possible.
**Jude and Milla have a combined Mystic Arte in this fight, you’ll need to view it if you want the Trophy for viewing all the Mystic Artes in the game.**
After the fight, you’ll trigger another scene, and the Skit: Pengyon Might Be Off The Menu.
Next head over to Lothringen, off of the Burnack Plateau.
Lothringen
Here head inside and to the center of the tower, speak to the Normin here to trigger the Skit: Return To Aball.
After the Skit, teleport over to Aball.
Aball
Make your way to the gravestones outside Velvet’s House to trigger a scene and the Skit: Why He Became The Shepherd.
Next up is Mt Killaraus.
Mt Killaraus
Teleport over to Meirchio once more, then head for Mt Killaraus. Enter the Volcano and follow the path. You’ll need to follow it past the point where we fought with Shigure and keep going until you reach the (!) on the map. Here you’ll find a rift that will teleport us to a new location, The Heavenly Steppes.
The Heavenly Steppes
As you enter you’ll trigger the Skit: An Unknown Place. To the southeast of your starting point will also be the final Katz Box of the game. Open it and you should unlock the Achievement: Katz Person. Use the warp point that is nearest to you to head to the next area.
Head north and take the eastern split to find a chest containing a Grape Gel. Continue north to find another chest containing an Arcane Bottle. Take the nearby warp to the next area.
Directly in front of you is another chest, this time containing a Denore Bottle. Grab it and then return back through the warp point, head south and use the warp point here to return to the very first section of the map we arrived in. This time take the northern warp point to the next area.
Head east, you’ll come to another chest with a Life Bottle inside. Grab it and then use the nearby rift to teleport away to the next section. This will also trigger a scene.
To the east of you is the Geotree for the area, grab it and then take the exit to the southeast.
At the first split take the northern path. Take the south passage next to find two chests one containing a Twin Charm and the other a Mythril Bracelet. Head back and continue north. To the west of the last split for the area, you’ll find another chest, this time containing a Mythril Garment. Finally, head north to the next area.
Head north down the slim passage to another chest, this one containing an Apple Gel. North of here you’ll find a second chest, with a Grape Gel inside. Grab them both and then head all the way to the south most exit.
In the northeast corner, you’ll find another chest here, this one with an Arcane Bottle inside. Continue south to find another chest hidden behind a rock, just before where you can use the Geoboard to make a jump. This chest contains a Life Bottle. Continue south past the jump point to find another chest hidden behind a rock, this one containing a Denore Bottle. Continue all the way to the south most exit, and into the next area.
Make your way to the top of the area and head through the multicolored gate here. Speak to the Katz in the next area to have the Heavenly Steppes explained to you. Basically, the large black pillar in the center needs to be extinguished. Touch all the small moving black ‘flames’ to extinguish them then interact with the large central one to trigger a fight. After the fight, a timer will appear and three new flames will show up. Each flame will trigger a battle and all three must be completed before the timer runs out. If you fail, you’ll need to start again.
Once completed, head through to the next area and up the stairs. Here you should find the first Helper Katz, you can give them Katz Spirits in exchange for them providing a service. Creating new Warp Points is one of the most useful options they have. This will allow you the ability to move more quickly between different levels of the Heavenly Steppes. (This functions as a Room with a Warp Point, See below)
Each level of the Heavenly Steppes contains the following:
- Room with a Warp Point (Be sure to activate these Warp Points by using them once)
- Random Room (Use the reset method below to spawn a new one)
- Chest Room (Great for high rank gear, up to Rarity 20)
- Katz Spirits Room (Great for farming Katz Spirits)
- Enemies Room (Enemies in this Dungeon Drop the strongest gear in the game for every character, Rarity 21)
- Blue/Red Flame Puzzle Room**
- Enemies/Malevolence Room
- Flames of Malevolence Room (You’ve just completed one of these)
- Boss Battle (Every Level will have a Boss Battle)
**A quick note about the Heavenly Steppes. The rooms you will pass through are randomly generated when you reach an area, so if you don’t like the puzzle rooms with the Blue and Red flames, for example, you can teleport out using your Denore Bottle back to Mt Killaraus – Cauldron and then use the Warp points to return to the level you were on. This will force a new randomly generated room which means you can repeat this process to opt to complete easier rooms if you really want to.**
If you do decide you want to complete the Puzzle rooms, the basic gist of it is that you want to extinguish the blue flames to open the way forward. Once the way to the final part of the puzzle is open, the final door won’t open until all the flames, both red and blue are lit. So you’ll need to backtrack and light the blue flames in a way that still allows you access to the final area once they are all lit. These can be tricky and time-consuming. No judgment here if you just warp out and reset it to an easier alternative, there is only so much time in the day.
Level 1 – The Heavenly Steppes
As you complete whichever room you choose to do, your next room is the boss room:
Boss Battle: Basilisk
Boss: | Basilisk |
HP: | 204,838 |
Types: | Dragon and Beast |
Weakness: | Wind |
Rewards: | Ventite of Blade and Paper |
Ventite of Blade and Paper
Ventite of Blade and Paper | Allows Velvet and Laphicet to perform a dual mystic arte. |
By this point in the game, you shouldn’t have much trouble with this Boss. Try to stay behind it to avoid most of its attacks, and target its weaknesses. Each Boss in the Heavenly Steppes will grant a new Combination Mystic Arte to your team.
Level 2 – The Heavenly Steppes
The same deal will apply for each level of the Heavenly Steppes, after the boss room, you’ll arrive in a room with a Katz that will create a Teleporter for you if you pay him. Head through the doorway in front of you into another of the randomly selected rooms. Remember you can reset this by warping out and then re-entering.
Once you’ve completed whichever generated room you were after, you’ll arrive in an area shaped like a giant plus sign (+). You’ll start in the northernmost part and find rooms at the end of each section. In the eastern room, you’ll find a chest with a Platinum Scrap inside. In the room to the west, you’ll find a chest containing the Seashell Pasta Minestrone Recipe. Once you have collected the chests, you’ll need to head to the central area and engage the mini-game by interacting with the column of black smoke. Win the battle and the timer will start, there are now four smaller columns of black smoke, one in each of the four rooms in this area. Head to them all and finish the battles within the time limit to open the way forward to the Boss Room.
Boss Battle: Vouivre
Boss: | Vouivre |
HP: | 176,072 |
Types: | Crustacean, Winged, and Dragon |
Weakness: | Fire |
Rewards: | Armory Acerite X |
Armory Acerite X
Armory Acerite X | Halves SG consumption for characters wearing equipment that has been enhanced. |
You’ve fought bosses like this twice before now. Target its weaknesses, stick to its back as much as possible, and try to interrupt its spellcasting where you can. This fight shouldn’t give you much of an issue.
Level 3 – The Heavenly Steppes
Head through the door after the boss, to arrive in another room with a Katz, here you’ll trigger the Skit: Malak Ages. Have the Katz create a portal for you and then proceed into the next randomly generated room. Reset it if you need to, and continue on.
Eventually, you’re going to land in a large open plain type area, very similar to the one we passed through on the way to Stonebury. There are a total of 10 chests here with random contents, and six of the small black flames will appear once you trigger the timer to appear by interacting with the large black flame. Just like in the previous levels. While you are searching for the chests, be sure to clear as many of the enemies as you can from the map. This will make the mini-game slightly easier.
You’ll find five of the small flames easily, start at the south east corner of the map, here near where the chest was you’ll find the first small flame. You’ll then find the next four by heading West and North. Once you’ve got the first five, the final one is located up where we kept running into the Dragon and Zaveid. Head there to claim the last and finish the mini-game.
The door to the Boss is also on this Plateau, take it to arrive at the Boss:
Boss Battle: Illuyankas
Boss: | Illuyankas |
HP: | 214,043 |
Types: | Dragon |
Weakness: | Water and Earth |
Rewards: | Ventite of Dagger and Fist |
Ventite of Dagger and Fist
Ventite of Dagger and Fist | Allows Rokurou and Eizen to perform a dual Mystic Arte. |
This Dragon can be a pain to fight. It has high defense and damage, it also spends the battle flying, which means some of your attacks will just simply miss it when it goes out of range. Try to keep to its back or sides and as much as you can avoid its magical attacks. Keep your HP high and just chip away at it until it falls.
Level 4 – The Heavenly Steppes
After the last Boss Battle, head through the door to the next room with the Katz. Use him to create a portal and then continue on.
The next room will be another randomly generated one, finish it off to arrive in an area very similar to the tower of Lothringen.
In this area, you’ll find five random contents chests, and six small black flames once you activate the mini-game. Two will be in the central area (upper level), two in the south area (lower level), one in the east (lower level), and one in the north (upper level). Grab the chests and clear the area of enemies as much as possible before engaging in the mini-game.
The exit door will spawn at the very top of the tower and lead to the next Boss Battle.
Boss Battle: Leviathan
Boss: | Leviathan |
HP: | 204,458 |
Types: | Dragon and Fiend |
Weakness: | Earth and Wind |
Rewards: | Mimicking Ignicite |
Mimicking Ignicite
Mimicking Ignicite | Increases the drop rate of random skills that the character has equipped, on normal mode or higher. |
Another Dragon, target its weaknesses and try to interrupt its spell casting. It likes to cast in quick succession so if you start to let it wind up, it will become difficult to prevent it from continuing to cast. This one has much lower defense than the last though, so you should be able to quickly chew through its health.
Level 5 – The Heavenly Steppes
Head through to the next room to find another grateful Katz, and a second Katz who will create another warp point for us.
The next door will take you to another randomly generated room, you know the drill by now. Reset it if it’s not one you want to deal with.
The next island area holds a total of 9 treasure chests for you to find. Once you begin the mini-game the five small embers you need to find are located on each of the offshoots of the island. Find them all within the time to trigger the next Boss Battle in the very center of the island.
Boss Battle: Fafnir
Boss: | Fafnir |
HP: | 265,826 |
Types: | Dragon and Fiend |
Weakness: | Water |
Rewards: | Ventite of Guardian and Lance |
Ventite of Guardian and Lance
Ventite of Guardian and Lance | Allows Magilou and Eleanor to perform a dual Mystic Arte. |
Target its weaknesses and try to stick to its back as much as possible to avoid its larger attacks.
You’ll get a short scene after the battle. Then you’ll be able to continue to the next layer of the Dungeon.
Level 6 – The Heavenly Steppes
Continue forward and make your next portal with the Katz. Enter the randomly-generated room and reset it if you need.
The next area is based on the Empyrean’s Throne map. There are a total of 14 treasure chests here for you to seek out and the minigame will spawn 7 small flames you’ll need to extinguish within the time limit. You’ll find one on both sides of the lower level, then another one on the second level of both side areas as well. The final three can be found as you approach the area we used to teleport to Innominat’s Domain. This will unlock the Boss of the area.
Boss Battle: Azhdahak
Boss: | Azhdahak |
HP: | 292,674 |
Types: | Dragon, Beast, and Amorphous |
Weakness: | N/A |
Rewards: | Alchemist's Acerite |
Alchemist’s Acerite
Alchemist's Acerite | Doubles the amount of materials received when dismantling equipment. |
The standard Boss strategy applies here as well, keep to its sides and target its category weaknesses.
After the fight you’ll trigger a short scene, head through the portal to continue to the top of the Heavenly Steppes for another scene. From here head down the stairs and speak to the Katz near the portal on the east, for an invite to the local bath. This will trigger another scene and then the Skit: What a Nice Bath!
