Sharp Spike is a Miscellaneous item found in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (FF8, FFVIII) it is used in weapon crafting and can be modded into AP Ammo. Sharp Spikes are typically obtained as a drop from the Armadodo, Grand Mantis, and Death Claw enemies in Final Fantasy VIII, it can also be obtained in a few other ways, as shown below.

The Sharp Spike item is used as an upgrade material for numerous weapons including the Slaying Tail, Save the Queen, Cardinal, Morningstar, and Cresent Wish. It can also be modded into AP Ammo (armor-piercing ammo) for Irvine.

How to Find Sharp Spikes in the Early Game

In order to obtain Sharp Spikes as early as possible, you’ll need to use the Card Mod ability on the Grand Mantis or Death Claw Card, which are relatively easy cards to obtain if you play plenty of card games.
