The Red and Blue Crew Monster Hunter World Optional Quest

Our next optional quest in Monster Hunter World is called The Red and Blue Crew. This sees us off to the Ancient forest to hunt a regular and azure Rathalos at the same time. The reward for completion is a new mantle, the Challenger Mantle.

The Challenger Mantle makes it more likely a monster will target the wearer, instead of your allies. The effect expires once you receive damage from an attack and is shortened each time you successfully block an attack.

You’ve fought Rathalos a few times by now, so this fight shouldn’t be anything new. You’ll need plenty of traps and flashbombs to help with the constant aerial attacks. Make sure to also pack some antidotes as both are able to inflict poison.

Rathalos is weak against Dragon, Thunder, Ice and Water elements. Its weak points include; the head, wings, and tail. You can also break the head, wings, body and sever the tail.

Azure Rathalos is weak against Dragon and Ice elements, sticking to either of these will allow you to hit both regular and Azure Rathalos’s elemental weaknesses. Azure Rathalos also shares the same weak points and breakable parts as its regular form.
