The Scorching Blade Assignment Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Assignment quest is the Master-Rank quest, The Scorching Blade. We’re headed back to the Wildspire Wastes, this time to hunt down one of Iceborne’s new monsters the Glavenus.

Velkhana’s arrival in the New World has thrown the ecosystem out of whack. I guess it was inevitable that a monster like a Glavenus would show up. Get out there and take care of it.

Most of Glavenus’s attacks come from the tail, you can dodge the pokes by simply rolling twice to either side. When it puts its tail in its mouth to “Sharpen” it, be wary as it has a massive spin attack it can launch from this position. Best to stand back and create some distance rather than chance getting hit. Even though it is not a weak point, attacks to the back legs are best suited for most melee weapons, as its head and tail can often be too far out of reach. Staying by the back legs will also mean most of the tail attacks will not be able to effectively hit you. Fireproof Mantle is also excellent for fighting Glavenus.

Glavenus is weak to Water, Ice, and Dragon elements. Its weak points are the head and tail. You can break or sever the head, forearms, back, and tail.
