Ultimate Weapons – Final Fantasy VII
Each character in Final Fantasy VII (FF7, FFVII) has an ultimate weapon that is typically the most powerful weapon the character can use. They also each contain a total of 8 linked material slots, although they also feature a materia growth rate of zero making them useless for leveling materia.
Where these weapons truly shine is in battle against any of the super bosses, Ruby or Emerald Weapon for example, or the Battle Square Arena.
Ultima Weapon – Cloud
Clouds Ultimate Weapon is called the Ultima Weapon, and it is obtained after the fight against the Ultima Weapon Boss. You’ll first run into the Ultimate Weapon boss in Mideel after the battle at the Northern Crater. You’ll find it again and be able to finish the battle after you beat the Diamond Weapon.
While you can take it on straight after the Diamond Weapon fight, it is recommended to wait until later in the game, as the Ultimate Weapon Boss is very strong.
The Ultima Weapon deals damage for Cloud proportionally based on his current HP as a percentage of his total HP. What this means is that it’s strongest when Cloud’s HP is full. The sword will actually change color as well to indicate how powerful it currently is.

The chest containing the weapon only spawns if Barret is in your party and is missable, as you won’t return to this area again in the game. The chest itself spawns on a winding staircase that you ascend.
The Missing Score’s damage is based on the total AP of the equipped materia on the weapon. Mastered Materia pass along the greatest damage boosts.

Use the key to re-enter the city and head into the slums area where you’ll remember one shop had a malfunctioning machine gun out the front. Head inside and you can obtain the Premium Heart for Tifa.
The damage of the Premium Heart is based on Tifa’s limit break gauge and her limit break level. So having a full limit gauge and her level 4 limit break will result in the maximum damage for Tifa using this weapon.
