Abominable Snow-Beast – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 6-Star Quest, Abominable Snow-Beast. We’re off to the Frost Islands to hunt a Goss Harag. You’ll find the location of the Goss Harag highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
A monster in the Frost Islands has been roaring after dark. The cries have terrified my child, who now refuses to go to the toilet alone at night! Please, help us if you can!
Monster Hunter Rise
Goss Harag is a Fanged Beast Class Monster found in the Frost Islands. It is weak to Fire and Thunder elemental damage.
During the fight, Goss Harag will accumulate frost on its arms, you can attack this to break it. If you don’t break the frost on the arms, it will eventually harden into blades of ice. The downside to attacking the built-up frost on the arms is that it can inflict Iceblight on the hunter, which will sap your stamina. The easiest way to counter this is to come into the fight with armor that has greater than 20 Ice Resistance. Above 20 of any resistance, you become immune to that element’s blight status.
While in a rage, some parts of Goss Harag will glow red. Focus your attacks on these parts, as they are its weak points.
