Advanced: The Veteran’s Gala – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 6-Star Quest, The Veteran’s Gala. We’re off to the Arena to hunt a Rajang, a Bazelgeuse, and a Magnamalo. This quest will only unlock if you’ve completed every other Village Quest from 1 to 6 Stars, as well as the Hub Quest called the Serpent Goddess Of Thunder.

A Rajang, a Bazelgeuse, and Magnamalo all waitin’ for ya in the Arena! Sky’s the limit if you can outdo this trio. So aim sky-high, Squirt! Bwahaha!

Monster Hunter Rise

Rajang

Rajang is a Fanged Beast Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Frost Islands, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Ice and Water elemental damage.

Any way you cut it, this is a really tough fight. If you haven’t already made it to High-Rank in the Guild Hub Quests, I highly recommend working upto that before taking this fight on. If you come into this with Low-Rank armor, you’ll probably not survive more than one or two hits from these monsters, so consider yourself warned.

Your best strategy here is going to be to let these monsters simply bash each other as much as possible to begin. Use your Wyvern Riding here to try and help the fight along but aim to have Rajang taken out first. He is easily the most dangerous of the monsters.

When Rajang enters his powered up state he has the ability to destroy traps, so use of them in this quest will need to be limited, or simply hold off until hes gone. Avoid him while he is in his powered up state, let the other monsters deal with that. Just try to stay alive and take advantage of any Wyvern Riding opportunities you get until he falls.

Bazelgeuse

Bazelgeuse is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Sandy Plains, Lava Caverns, Frost Islands, and Flooded Forest. It is weak to Thunder, Dragon, and Ice elemental damage.

Bazelgeuse is a nuisance with his bombing runs, however by the time Rajang has gone down, he should also be significantly weakened. You can attack the scales still on Bazelgeuse’s body to destroy them and buy you some more time till it can scatter them again. Try to use its bombing runs to damage whichever other monsters are remaining in the arena.

Magnamalo

Magnamalo is a Fanged Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Frost Islands, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Water and Thunder elemental damage.

By the time there is only one monster left, he should be considerably weakened. This should become a much easier fight from here. You’ve fought Magnamalo before so you know what to expect, and now its just the two of you left. Focus on keeping your Health high and chipping away at him, until he eventually falls as well.
