Bad Friends, Great Enemies Assignment Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne
Our next Assignment Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the quest; Bad Friends, Great Enemies. We’re headed off to the Coral Highlands for our first confrontation with one of Iceborne’s new monsters, the Ebony Odogaron.
As soon as Velkhana left, monsters everywhere started getting riled up. We’re short on manpower, and we need a hunter to secure the defense convoy’s route to Seliana. Start by taking out the Odogaron subspecies!

This guy is FAST. You can slow him down by letting him run out of steam a little and get tired, or use Traps and Flashbombs to have him stand still for awhile so you can actually hit him. Just be aware that he will gain immunity to both of them after a limited number of uses. The Stamina Thief ability is great in this fight as well.
The dragonproof mantle is very useful for this fight as well. Ebony Odogaron has several moves that inflict Dragon damage as well as Dragonblight. The Dragonproof Mantle will make this easier to handle by nullifing the blight and reducing the damage. Its also highly recommended to bring 20+ Dragon Resistance to this fight as well. This will prevent you from being hit with Dragonblight at all.
Ebony Odogaron is weak to Water, Fire, Thunder, and Ice elements. Its weak points are the head, tail, and front claws. You can break or sever its head, front claws, back claws, and tail.
