Our next Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the High-Rank Quest, Blue Prominence. We’re off to the Elder’s Recess to hunt a Lunastra. This quest is unlocked as part of the chain that started with The Blazing Sun, Pandora’s Arena, and No Remorse, No Surrender. Complete No Remorse, No Surrender to unlock this quest, Blue Prominence.
I was out studying the feeding habits of some seriously cute local fauna when —WOWZERS— a gigantic blue elder dragon appears! Take care of it so I can get back to research that matters!
Monster Hunter World Iceborne
You’ll already be familiar with Lunastra’s tricks by now, having fought it a few times. You’ll want 20+ Fire Resistance to negate Fire Blight, as well as provide protection against the majority of its fire-based attacks. Consider Fire Resistance Jewels to boost you above the 20 resistance point threshold for becoming immune to Fire Blight, and the skill Heat Guard, to nullify its fire damage aura. Between those two skills you should have a much easier time with this fight.
This quest seems designed to showcase Lunastra’s Turf War with other Elder Dragons. Part way through the quest you can expect to be visited by another Elder Dragon who will engage in a Turf War with Lunastra before leaving the area. In the video I had Kushala Daora turn up. Its also possible for Nergigante to show instead.
Lunastra is weak to Ice and Dragon elements. Its weak points are the head, wings, and tail. You can break or sever its head, wings, and tail.
