Dissect The Dual Blades – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 6-Star Hub Quest, Dissect The Dual Blades. We’re off to the Sandy Plains to hunt an Anjanath and a Rathian. You’ll find the location of them both highlighted on the map so they’ll be no issue to track down.

Alright, Ace, lesson time! Fending off an Anjanath and a Rathian at the same time may sound crazy, but it’s just the challenge for any hunter who’s looking to develop their dual blade technique!

Monster Hunter Rise

Anjanath

Anjanath is a Brute Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Water, Ice, and Thunder elemental damage.

During a rage, Anjanath will perform consecutive charges that end with him sliding along the ground. If you accidentally get caught up against a corner, he will likely trap you there with multiple of these in a row resulting in your Hunter feinting. Try to keep your distance and avoid these slides, but stay aware of your surroundings at the same time.

Anjanath uses Fire elemental attacks and can inflict the Fireblight status. By using armor with greater than 20 Fire Resistance, you will nullify the Fireblight and also greatly reduce the damage of his attacks.

Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a High-Rank Anjanath can include; Anjanath Pelt +, Anjanath Scale +, Anjanath Nosebone +, Anjanath Tail, Anjanath Plate, Anjanath Gem, Inferno Sac, Anjanath Fang +, Wyvern Tear, and Large Wyvern Tear.

Rathian

Rathian is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to both Dragon and Thunder elemental damage.

Armor with higher than 20 Fire Resistance will also help protect you from some of Rathian’s long range fireball attacks. You’ll want to also pack plenty of Antidotes, as many of Rathian’s attacks will inflict the Poison status. Rathian’s most dangerous attack is its backflip. It will take a small step back with one foot prior to performing this move, so you have a very small reaction window to evade. It can also perform this attack twice in a row, so be careful about moving into attack as its landing after the first backflip.

Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a High-Rank Rathian can include; Rathian Scale +, Rathian Carapace, Rathian Webbing, Rathian Spike +, Inferno Sac, Monster Keenbone, Rathian Plate, Rathian Ruby, Rath Wingtalon +, Rathalos Marrow, Rathalos Medulla, Wyvern Tear, and Large Wyvern Tear.
