Ever Present Shadow Assignment Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Assignment quest is the Master-Ranked quest The Ever Present Shadow. We’re headed to the Ancient Forest to hunt a Master-Rank Nargacuga.

Velkhana’s arrival in the New World has thrown the ecosystem out of whack. I guess it was inevitable that a monster like a Nargacuga would show up. Get out there and take care of it.

It is recommended to use faster, hit-and-run type weapons to fight Nargacuga, as his raw speed makes him a challenging opponent for slower weapons. If like me you can’t let go of a Greatsword, then try and bait out his large tail slam attack to buy yourself a combo or two while he is stuck. You can also use both flashpods and Shock Traps to slow him down a little so you can beat on him.

Consider also taking equipment that grants the skill, Stamina Thief, this way any hits you land will eventually start to tire him out and slow him down. This should make him a much easier target. The easiest way to get this skill would be to simply upgrade an Enervate Charm.

Nargacuga is weak to Thunder and Fire elements. Its weak points are the head and tail. You can break or sever its head, front legs, and tail.
