Machine Core Guide

Machine Core is a crafting material in Nier Automata. Crafting materials are used in upgrading your Pods and Weapons. They can be obtained as drops by defeating enemies, randomly on the map as a glowing point, or bought in stores in various locations.

The only function of the Machine Core is to be sold for cash, no upgrades require a Machine Core. Depending on which Route you’re playing through, the value you can sell them for drastically increases. A popular theory is that as your understanding of the machine lifeforms grows from route to route, so does the value of the Machine Core, which is reflected in its increased sale price.

Where to Find Machine Core

Machine Core can be obtained as a drop from the following enemies:

• Goliath Tank in the Amusement Park
• Gold Tank and Courageous Brother in the Desert area. They drop 1x each.
• Amusement Park Rabbit
• Random Drop from most Machine Lifeform enemies

Also obtained as a Quest Reward from the following Quests:

• Threat Disposal
• Idiot Savant

Upgrades Requiring Machine Core

No items require a Machine Core as an upgrade material.
