Rathalos Alert! – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 5-Star Quest, Rathalos Alert! We’re off to the Lava Caverns to hunt a Rathalos. You’ll find the location of the Rathalos highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.

Monster Hunter Rise
Rathalos is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Dragon, Thunder, Ice, and Water elemental damage.
One of the most difficult aspects of fighting Rathalos is getting him onto the ground. Its been made a little easier in Monster Hunter Rise with the addition of our aerial Wirebug capabilities. The most effective way to ground him though is to simply use a Flashbomb. Make sure you get it to detonate in front of his face, this will send him crashing to the ground for a time. Once he recovers, he’s likely to take off again, and you’ll need to repeat the process.
Rathalos will primarily attack with Fire-based breath attacks, but he also has the ability to inflict Poison with some of his swooping attacks. Bring Antidotes to counter the Poison, and use armor with higher than 20 Fire Resistance so that you become immune to his Fireblight status. High Fire Resistance will also cut the damage Rathalos can inflict with most of its attacks.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Rathalos can include; Rathalos Scale, Rathalos Shell, Rathalos Webbing, Rathalos Tail, Flame Sac, Rathalos Marrow, Rathalos Plate, Rath Wingtalon, and Wyvern Tear.
