Waltzing By Moonlight – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 5-Star Quest, Waltzing By Moonlight. We’re off to the Flooded Forest to hunt a Mizutsune. You’ll find the location of the Mizutsune highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.

Oh, how elegantly the Mizutsune steps, arcing through the air… It must be the fin! If I had one for my own, surely I could dance as it does too… I know! Hunter! Waltz with the wyvern, and I shall seize its fin!

Monster Hunter Rise

Mizutsune is a Leviathan Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Frost Islands, and Flooded Forest. It is weak to Thunder, Dragon, and Ice elemental damage.

Mizutsune is capable of inflicting a new ailment in Monster Hunte Rise, called Bubble. There are two levels to the Bubble effect, the first actually makes your hunter a more efficient dodger, while the second level makes it very difficult to control your hunter. You’re best off simply dispelling the effect with a Cleanser, rather than trying to toe the line and stay at the first level. You’ll also need Nullberries to dispel the Waterblight it can cause.

It can use some highly damaging water-jet type attacks that can be very difficult to dodge due to the random nature of their movements. It is highly advised to bring armor with higher than 20 Water Resistance for this fight. At that level you’ll be immune to Waterblight and also greatly reduce the damage of Mizutsune’s strongest attacks.

Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Mizutsune can include; Mizutsune Scale, Mizutsune Purplefur, Mizutsune Claw, Bubblefoam, Mizutsune Tail, Mizutsune Plate, Mizutsune Fin, and Wyvern Tear.
