Special Arena HR Paolumu Optional Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the High-Rank Arena Quest, Special Arena HR Paolumu. This quest is unlocked once you’ve captured a High-Rank Paolumu. You’ll also need to have completed the Low-Rank variant of this quest Special Arena: Paolumu.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne

High-Rank Paolumu hits a little harder and has a higher HP pool. Other than that this is a fairly straightforward fight. Remember if it’s spending a lot of time floating you can bring it down with Flashbombs, by attacking its inflated neck, or by baiting out its ranged air based attacks to deplete its air sacs. The falling rocks in the arena are particularly effective at this too.

Paolumu is weak to Fire and Thunder elements. Its weak points are the head and neck. You can break or sever its head, wings, back, and tail.
