Steel Pipe Guide
Steel Pipe is a GF Medicine item found in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (FF8, FFVIII) it is used in weapon crafting and can be modded into Berserk and Aura magic or Aura Stones. A Steel Pipe is typically obtained as a drop or steal from the Wendigo enemy in Final Fantasy VIII, it can also be obtained in a few other ways, as shown below.
The Steel Pipe item is mainly used as an upgrade material for some of Irvine’s Guns and can be modded into Berserk or Aura magic. Aura magic is very valuable for junctioning into stats. Aura Magic is most useful when functioning to the following stats: HP-J (+3,400 HP), Str-J (+70 Strength), Hit-J (+50 Hit) or onto the ST-Def-J (+100% Curse Resistance).
How to Find Steel Pipe in the Early Game
In order to obtain Steel Pipe as early as possible, you’ll need to use the Card Mod ability on the Elastoid Card.
Wendigo enemies that can be encountered in the forests just outside of Timber also drop Steel Pipes. You can also Mug Wendigo’s for a chance at a Steel Pipe, they are very common once you reach Timber.

How to find Steel Pipe as a Drop
Steel Pipe can be obtained as a drop from the Wendigo enemy at levels below 30. Between levels 1-19 Wendigo has a 25% drop rate for Steel Pipe, and levels 20-29 have a 20% chance of dropping one. Wendigos are found in the following locations:

How to Steal a Steel Pipe (Mug Ability)
Steel Pipe can also be obtained as a steal, using the Mug ability, against the Wendigo enemy fought in the above-listed locations.
