The Queen’s Procession – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 4-Star Quest, The Queen’s Procession. We’re off to the Sandy Plains to hunt a Rathian. You’ll find the location of the Rathian highlighted on the map so she’ll be no issue to track down.
Woohoo! Ohhh man! The queen of the Sandy Plains is spewing fire everywhere! She burned all my stuff – even set my pants on fire, too! Haha! Wait…that’s not funny—* ahem * Please hunt that Rathian!
Monster Hunter Rise
Rathian is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to both Dragon and Thunder elemental damage.
Rathian can inflict Fireblight with its Fireball attacks, and inflict Poison with its claws and tail. Bringing armor that resists either of these status effects will make the fight alittle easier. Your aerial wirebug attacks can be useful for getting up to her whenever she takes off, a lucky hit may even send her plummeting straight back to the ground.
Rathian’s most damaging move is a backflip that she will generally do after taking a couple of small steps, learn what this attacks set up looks like. When she is in a rage she can perform it twice in a row, as well as slightly angle the attack to change its direction. The backflip will usually also inflict Poison, making the high damage and the follow up HP loss over time quite a deadly combination.
