The Secret To A Good Slice Optional Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the quest, The Secret To A Good Slice. We’re off to the Wildspire Waste to hunt one of the new Iceborne monsters, the Glavenus.

You’ve already fought Glavenus in a prior quest, The Scorching Blade, so you should be pretty familiar with how this fight is likely to go. Remember to use the Sandtrap in the top area of the wastes to your advantage. Glavenus will also have a Turf War with Diablos if you can get the two of them together for some easy damage.

Most of Glavenus’s damaging attacks occur at long-range, so sticking close to his legs and out of the range of that tail is highly advised. He’ll pause for a good few seconds when he goes to sharpen his tail in his mouth as well, which appears to be an opening to attack, however, there is a 50/50 chance of him unleashing a massive spin attack off the back of this action. Make sure your HP is full if you’re going to try and run in to hit him in this window.

Glavenus is weak to Water, Ice, and Dragon elements. Its weak points are the head and tail. You can break or sever the head, forearms, back, and tail.
