Basics Of Capturing Tutorial Quest Monster Hunter Rise

Basics Of Capturing – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the Tutorial Quest; The Basics Of Capturing Monsters. Monster Capturing works the same in Monster Hunter Rise as it has worked in previous games.

Hey, Ace! Hunting ain’t all about slaying, ya know? Sometimes you gotta capture monsters too! Meet me in the Arena, and I’ll show you what it’s all about.

Master Utsushi – Monster Hunter Rise

In order to capture a monster, you’ll need to reduce its HP to the point where it is near death. Usually, monsters will display signs at this point such as limping and trying to flee back to their nests to sleep. In Monster Hunter Rise, you will see a blue icon on the top right-hand side of your screen display beneath the monster’s icon. This blue icon will indicate that the monster is weak enough to capture. At this point you’ll need to use a trap, either a pitfall trap or shock trap, then while the monster is trapped, you’ll need to throw 2 Tranqbombs at it.

If the monster’s HP is low enough and you tranquilized it after trapping it then it should fall asleep and notice saying you’ve captured the monster should appear on the screen. If you do capture a monster you won’t be able to carve from it, but you will have an increased chance of rare rewards appearing in the reward collection screen.
