Beckoning Slumber – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Hub Quest, Beckoning Slumber. We’re off to the Flooded Forest to hunt a Somnacanth. You’ll find the location of the Somnacanth highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
I’ve been suffering from insomnia…So I figured, hey, why don’t I create a sedative using Somnacanth powder? At this point, I don’t care how crazy it sounds. Just get me that powder, please.
Monster Hunter Rise
Somnacanth is a Leviathan Class Monster found in the Frost Islands, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Thunder and Fire elemental damage.
Use your wirebug to more easily avoid the sleep breath attacks that Somnacanth uses. By leaping above it, the attack can be completely avoided. You can also bring energy drinks incase you do happen to get hit. If you can manage to break the Somnacanth’s head you’ll hinder its ability to use the sleep breath attack as well, by making it sometimes fail. This can leave the monster open for a significant damage opportunity. Remember that you can also limit Somnacanth’s mobility by bringing the fight onto land, where it can’t move around as easily.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Somnacanth can include; Somnacanth Scale, Somnacanth Shell, Somnacanth Fin, Somnacanth Dust, Monster Bone L, Somnacanth Talon, and Wyvern Tear.
