Closer Than It Appears – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 6-Star Hub Quest, Closer Than It Appears. We’re off to the Lava Caverns to hunt an Anjanath. You’ll find the location of the Anjanath highlighted on the map so it will be no issue to track down.

I was en route to do some business when I started hearing this stomping noise behind me. It was faint at first, but then started getting louder and louder! I turn around and there’s an Anjanath right behind me! I’ve never screamed and run so hard in my life.

Monster Hunter Rise

Anjanath is a Brute Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Water, Ice, and Thunder elemental damage.

Anjanath can inflict Fireblight with most of its attacks, wearing armor with a Fire Resistance higher than 20 will make you immune to Fireblight and also reduce the damage you’ll take from most of Anjanath’s attacks. When it enters a rage, both its nose and its sails on its back will enlarge. It gains access to a long range tackle/slide attack while in a rage. If you get pinned in a corner, it can use this move multiple times in a row, not giving you enough of a chance to avoid it. Getting trapped like this will often lead to your hunter being returned to base, so take care to avoid getting stuck in this loop.

Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a High-Rank Anjanath can include; Anjanath Pelt +, Anjanath Scale +, Anjanath Nosebone +, Anjanath Tail, Anjanath Plate, Anjanath Gem, Inferno Sac, Anjanath Fang +, Wyvern Tear, and Large Wyvern Tear.
