Feathered Frenzy – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Quest, Feathered Frenzy. We’re off to the Shrine Ruins to slay an Aknosom. You’ll find the location of the Aknosom highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
I’m sorry Hunter… Those Buddies heard that there were “ghosts” at the Shrine Ruins and ran off. I’m so worried about them with that Aknosom around. Can you hunt it while I go look for them!?
Monster Hunter Rise
Aknosom is a bird wyvern similar to the Pukei-Pukei or Yuan-Kut-Ku, if you’ve fought anything similar to those then you’ll know what to expect here. Aknosom uses Fire elemental attacks quite frequently, so bring armor with high Fire Resistance to counter him. He’s also weakest against the Water, Thunder, and Ice elements.
Aknosom has a number of sweeping attacks that require a ‘wind-up’ on his part, you can tell it’s coming because he’ll stand up tall with his wings brought in close to his body. Let him unleash the attack and then move in to take advantage of the opening afterward to land some hits. Another move to watch out for is a charging attack where he will lower his head and run headlong at you. He can do this several times in a row, but after performing it, he will stumble and fall, leaving himself open to your attacks.
Remember that Fireblight can be cured by rolling in water, or by performing consecutive rolls untill it is extinguished.
