Great Izuchi Guide – Monster Hunter Rise
Great Izuchi is a large Bird Wyvern found primarily in the Shrine Ruins and Frost Islands. It is weak to Water, Thunder, Fire, and Ice elements.
The Great Izuchi is the alpha of its pack, identified by its larger build, upended white fur, and scythe-like tail. A Great Izuchi forms a herd of many smaller Izuchi and selects two from the group to accompany it on territory patrols. Once it spots its prey or senses danger, the Great Izuchi issues commands to its fellow Izuchi and coordinates their movements. Take care that you don’t get overwhelmed!
Great Izuchi Description Monster Hunter Rise
Great Izuchi’s Attacks:
Many of Great Izuchi’s most powerful attacks revolve around the use of its tail. It will try to keep two smaller Izuchi with it at all times, if they are defeated, it will call reinforcements, usually within a couple of minutes. Taking the smaller Izuchi out first will allow you to focus on the Great Izuchi more effectively afterwards.
- It has an overhead slam attack with its tail that you can simply dodge to the left or right to avoid. This attack will cause the monster’s tail to become stuck in the ground afterward. use this opening to deal some damage to it.
- It then also has two variations of a sweeping tail attack. The first is a single 180-degree spin, you’ll need to be able to create some distance between the two of you to avoid this one.
- The second variation of the tail sweep is a triple tailspin. Because of this move, always make sure you wait to be 100% certain about what move the Great Izuchi is using before you move in to attack it.
- Dealing a substantial amount of damage to the Great Izuchi will cause it to topple over, this will leave the monster open for a significant amount of time.
