Literary Thief Monster Hunter World Iceborne Optional Quest

Our next Monster Hunter World Iceborne Optional Quest is Literary Thief which puts us head to head with our old friend Kulu-Ya-Ku.

Kulu-Ya-Ku has a few new tricks at Master-Rank, nothing too severe, but watch out for him now digging up different kinds of rocks to attack with. Previously he would dig up a rock and use it to both deflect the hunter’s attacks and deal additional damage with the rock in his jump attacks. Going forward he can still do this, but in addition, he now has two other kinds of rocks he can dig up. The first is a red rock which causes his attacks to inflict fireblight, while also giving his attacks a small blast based area of effect on his jump attacks. The second is a pointy silver rock that can inflict bleeding if he hits you with it. As usual, you can use the slinger to make him drop the rocks.

Kulu-Ya-Ku retains his weakness to every element, his head and arms are still breakable. His head is his sole weak point.

As a side note, at the beginning of Master-Rank you will be hurting for some good armor. Kulu-Ya-Ku has some exceptional attack skills included in its armor at Master-Rank. Mainly the Critical Boost and Critical Eye skill, for more frequent and harder-hitting critical blows you’ll want to farm and pick up a few pieces of this armour set.
