My Muse The Mizutsune – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Hub Quest, My Muse The Mizutsune. We’re off to the Flooded Forest to hunt a Mizutsune. You’ll find the location of the Mizutsune highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.

My husband is one of those artsy-fartsy types, you know the kind. Sees a sunset…cries. Well, he heard Mizutsune are “creatures that inspire creativity” so he ran off with his easel to find one. * Sigh * Can you go save him for me?

Monster Hunter Rise

Mizutsune is a Leviathan Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Frost Islands, and Flooded Forest. It is weak to Thunder, Dragon, and Ice elemental damage.

Mizutsune can inflict the bubble status effect if it hits you with its bubbles. Bubble is a new status effect in Monster Hunter Rise, and can be dispelled with a Cleanser or by taking damage. Bubble has two levels of affliction and the second level will result in the hunter not being able to easily control their movements, making dodging enemy attacks, very difficult.

Mizutsune can slick itself to make its sliding attacks more effective, this can also lead to it tripping and being vulnerable to attack as well. It also has highly damaging Water-jet like attacks that it shoots from its mouth. To avoid these its easiest to simply create a lot of distance when it begins the attack, as some variations of this move include unpredictable movement patterns which can be difficult to avoid if you are up close.

Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Mizutsune can include; Mizutsune Scale, Mizutsune Purplefur, Mizutsune Claw, Bubblefoam, Mizutsune Tail, Mizutsune Plate, Mizutsune Fin, and Wyvern Tear.
