Champion Of The Caverns – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Hub Quest, Champion Of The Caverns. We’re off to the Lava Caverns to hunt a Rathalos. You’ll find the location of the Rathalos highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
Meow, I’ve seen my share of Raths before. Never thought they were that tough, just fly around and yowl at ya. Mewboy, I was so wrong… I got the big idea to take one on, paw-to-claw, and it only took one fireball for me to hightail it out of there! Youch!
Monster Hunter Rise
Rathalos is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Dragon, Thunder, Ice, and Water elemental damage.
One of the hardest parts about fighting a Rathalos is the fact he won’t come down to land. You can force him down when he takes off by launching a Flashbomb in front of his face, this will give you some time to get some hits in until he recovers. You can also make great use of your Wirebug Aerial attacks to take the fight to him.
Rathalos can inflict Fireblight with many of its attacks, as well as Poison if you happen to get hit by his Talons. To counter these, consider bringing armor with a minimum of 20 Fire Resistance and a heap of Antidotes. At 20 points of resistance, you become immune to that element’s blight status. So if for example, your armor has 24 Fire Resistance when you look at your stats, then you would be immune to the Fireblight status.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Rathalos can include; Rathalos Scale, Rathalos Shell, Rathalos Webbing, Rathalos Tail, Flame Sac, Rathalos Marrow, Rathalos Plate, Rath Wingtalon, and Wyvern Tear.
