Nighty Night Nightshade Optional Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the Master-Rank Quest Nighty Night Nightshade. We’re off to the Ancient Forest to Capture a Nightshade Paolumu. This quest is only unlocked after completing Trapping The Tree Thrasher, as well as No Time For Naps. It will expand your canteen ingredients after the first successful completion.

Nightshade Paolumu is one of the new Variant monsters in Monster Hunter World Iceborne. It uses a significant amount of attacks that inflict the sleep status. Be sure to come to this fight with total immunity to the sleep status. The quest becomes incredibly difficult without it, as Nightshade Paolumu not only inflicts the status with attacks, but will leave clouds behind it that also inflict sleep.

You can either equip armor or jewels that help to reduce or prevent the sleep status. Aim for total immunity though. Tzitzi-Ya-Ku leg armor also provides an easy source of Sleep Resistance +2.

  • Level 1: Reduces Duration by 30%
  • Level 2: Reduces Duration by 60%
  • Level 3: Prevents Sleep.

Nightshade Paolumu is weak against Water and Fire elements. Its weak points are the Head, Throat Sac, and Chest. You can break or sever its head, wings, body, and tail.
