Twilit Twin Stars – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Hub Quest, Twilit Twin Stars. We’re off to the Shrine Ruins to hunt a Nargacuga. You’ll find the location of the Nargacuga highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
It was a quiet night in the Ruins; that’s when I saw two red stars glowing in the darkness. I felt a gust of wind, and the next thing I know, I awoke on a hospital bed. I did not know such frightening things exist out there…
Monster Hunter Rise
Nargacuga is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins and Flooded Forest. It is weak to Thunder, Fire, and Dragon elemental damage.
Nargacuga is extremely agile. It has many attacks that make great use of this agility as well. Take your time and learn its movement patterns for awhile at the start of the fight. If you dont have some idea of its moveset you can find yourself quickly overwhelmed by what seem like impossible hitboxes on its attacks.
The most dangerous of its attacks is a backflip where it will smash its tail into the ground, this move will leave it vulnerable for a time afterwards, but if you get hit by it, it will consume a significant portion of your HP. Severing its tail does not really make this attack any less dangerous either. When Nargacuga eventually enters a rage, its speed and power both get a significant increase so take extreme care, and keep your HP close to max for this entire fight.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Nargacuga can include; Nargacuga Blackfur, Nargacuga Scale, Nargacuga Fang, Nargacuga Cutwing, Narga Tailspike, Nargacuga Tail, Nargacuga Marrow, and Wyvern Tear.
