Wavering Moon And Thunder – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Hub Quest, Wavering Moon And Thunder. We’re off to the Flooded Forest to hunt a Zinogre. You’ll find the location of the Zinogre highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
My guards have turned craven after hearing of a Zinogre in the area. Nonetheless, I must press on through the Forest, no matter what… Which is why I implore you, brave Hunter, to vanquish the beast instead.
Monster Hunter Rise
Zinogre is a Fanged Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins and Flooded Forest. It is weak to Ice, Water, and Fire elemental damage.
If Zinogre reaches his charged state during battle, you’ll find his attack patterns will completely change. In addition to this he gains stat increases similar to other monsters in a rage state, he will attack faster and hit harder. You’ll also find that in his charged state he becomes immune to shock traps. You can either wait out the charged state, or attempt to knock him out of it by staggering him.
Zinogre’s attacks can also cause the Thunderblight status effect making it easier for any future attacks to stun the hunter. You can cure this with a Nullberry in battle or by wearing armor with higher than 20 Thunder Resistance. At 20+ Resistance of any element you’ll gain immunity to that elements ‘blight’ status effect. It will also decrease the damage you’ll recieve from Zinogre, as many of his attacks are of the Thunder element.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Zinogre can include; Zinogre Shell, Zinogre Shockfur, Zinogre Shocker, Zinogre Tail, Fulgurbug, Zinogre Plate, Zinogre Horn, Zinogre Claw, and Wyvern Tear.
