When The Mist Taketh You Assignment Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Our next Assignment Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the Master-Rank Quest, When The Mist Taketh You. This quest begins after we start the expedition into the Hoarfrost Reach looking for the Tracker, who has gone missing. We follow her footprints and are eventually led to a point where we need to split with the Handler to deal with a new sub-species of Legiana, the Shrieking Legiana.

Leave finding the Tracker to me. In the meantime, secure the area by taking care of that Legiana! Be careful though, there’s something off about this one…

In my humble opinion, Shrieking Legiana is a great flapping nuisance. Between the constant shrieking (roars), the Iceblight, and the fact she won’t land on the ground for more than 2 seconds, you may have your hands full with this fight. Did I mention there’s another Legiana on the map and they will team up and fly around together as well?

When The Mist Taketh You – Shrieking Legiana Strategy

Starting out you’ll probably want Earplugs, you can get it from the Tigrex Armor in a pinch if you need it. Blight Resistance will counter the Iceblight she will constantly inflict, so bring that or a ton of Nulberries. Flash bombs will work a couple of times to knock her out of the air, save them until both Legiana can be flashed so you can focus on the Shrieking Legiana without the other annoying you. Bring Dungbombs if you want to drive away the second Legiana and make life a little easier. Slinger Bursts to the face work best to try and bring her to the ground.

The Tigrex Armor set is highly recommended for this fight. It gives neutral Ice resistance which you can just use Jewels to bring up to Ice Resistance + 3. It will also give you the Free Meal and Speed Eating skills which hopefully means you won’t run out of Nulberries or healing items, during the quest. It also grants the Earplugs skill to counter the constant roars. If you’ve fought Tigrex twice by now, you should have enough parts to make at least 2 or 3 pieces of the armor as well, meaning not a lot of farming to complete the set. Consider it.
