A Grizzly Encounter – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 1-Star Hub Quest; A Grizzly Encounter. We’re off to the Shrine Ruins to hunt an Arzuros. You’ll find the location of the Arzuros highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.

What are we gonna do, Hunter? WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!? An Arzuros attacked the lastest delivery of honey into Kamura and now there are no sweets — WHAT!? Who cares if they are OK! Did you hear me? NO SWEETS!
Monster Hunter Rise

Arzuros is a Fanged Beast type Monster found in the Shrine Ruins and Flooded Forest. It is weak to Fire, Ice, and Thunder elemental damage.

Of all of the attacks Arzuros has, you’ll only need to be careful of a few. He has a series of standing claw swipes, 3 in total, that he will leave himself open for attacks after if you can get behind him. Beware though that during a rage this becomes 4 total swipes, so he can easily move away from you if you begin tryiing to hit him on the end of the third swipe. Arzuros also has the ability to ‘jump backwards’ hitting you if you are standing directly behind him.
