A Somniferous Elegy – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 6-Star Hub Quest, A Somniferous Elegy. We’re off to the Lava Caverns to hunt a Somnacanth. You’ll find the location of the Somnacanth highlighted on the map so it will be no issue to track down.
Had a agroup of travelers come in last night feeling a Somnacanth. Dang monster must have got ’em good because they’re still skeepin’! I can’t have guests stayin’ past check out time! Hunter, can ya go do something ’bout that thing?
Monster Hunter Rise
Somnacanth is a Leviathan Class Monster found in the Frost Islands, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Thunder and Fire elemental damage.
Most of Somnacanth’s attacks can be avoided with the use of the Wiredash, so make sure to liberally use it. You can greatly reduce Somnacanth’s mobility by forcing the fight onto land whenever possible.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a High-Rank Somnacanth can include; Somnacanth Scale +, Somnacanth Shell +, Somnacanth Fin +, Somnacanth Sedative, Monster Hardbone, Wyvern Gem, Somnacanth Talon +, Wyvern Tear, and Large Wyvern Tear.
