Fried And Baptized – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 2-Star Hub Quest, Fried And Baptized. We’re off to the Flooded Forest to hunt a Royal Ludroth and a Rathian. You’ll find the locations of both Monsters highlighted on the map so they’ll be no issue to track down.
I tend to ignore these little “tiffs” between monsters while out in the field. Especially since I have a special clock to protect me. But it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore when the forest is flooding and burning at the same time…
Monster Hunter Rise
For this quest, you’ll find both the Royal Ludroth and Rathian on the map together. You’ll want to try and defeat them one at a time so that you don’t end up getting caught in a monster brawl. Quests featuring multiple monsters will typically scale down the HP Pool of each of the individual monsters to make up for the fact that you’ll be facing more than one consecutively. Remember you’re going to need to bring everything you’ll need to face both monsters as well. Nullberries and Antidotes are a must.
Royal Ludroth
Royal Ludroth is a Leviathan Class Large Monster found in the Flooded Forest and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Fire, Thunder, and Ice elements.
Royal Ludroth uses its long body as the basis for many of its attacks. Using your Wirebug can really help to get out of the way of quite a few of its attacks. It can also inflict Waterblight on you, which will limit your ability to regenerate your stamina, use a Nullberry to cure this status effect. Getting caught with low stamina is a surefire way to lose this fight.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Royal Ludroth can include; Royal Ludroth Scale, Royal Ludroth Claw, Spongy Hide, Royal Ludroth Crest, Royal Ludroth Tail, Aqua Sac, Dash Extract, and Wyvern Tear.

Rathian is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Shrine Ruins, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to both Dragon and Thunder elemental damage.
Rathian can inflict both Fireblight and Poison with its attacks. You cure the first with a Nulberry or by performing many consecutive rolls, the second you’ll want to bring Antidotes to counter. Rathian’s most damaging attack is a backflip that she can perform with very little notice. If you see her take a small step back, you should assume anything in front of her is about to be hit by the backflip. She has the ability to angle the backflip as well, to catch hunters standing just to the side of where it would normally hit. While in a rage she will perform this move up to twice in a row as well.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Rathian can include; Rathian Scale, Rathian Shell, Rathian Webbing, Rathian Spike, Flame Sac, Monster Bone L, Rathian Plate, Rath Wingtalon, Rathalos Marrow, and Wyvern Tear.
