Shadows Over The Frost – Monster Hunter Rise

Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 5-Star Hub Quest, Shadows Over The Frost. We’re off to the Frost Islands to hunt a Khezu and a Tetranadon. You’ll find the location of them both highlighted on the map so they’ll be no issue to track down.

It has come to the board’s attention that one of our members has not returned from the Frost Islands. We have to assume that the trader must have been attacked thus we are requiring the assitance of a hunter. We will send out a rescue team (or cleap-up crew) once you have completed the task.

Monster Hunter Rise

Khezu

Khezu is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Frost Islands and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Fire elemental damage.

Khezu attacks using its high damage Thunder element moves. You can reduce its effectiveness by bringing armor with high Thunder resistance, as well by curing the Thunderblight status whenever you are affected by it. Thunderblight will lead to increased stuns on your hunter, which makes them a much easier target for Khezu’s most powerful moves. Ideally armor with Thunder Resistance of 20+ will make you highly resistant to Khezu’s biggest damage attacks, and also make you immune to Thunderblight. Move onto the Tetranadon once Khezu is taken care of.

Tetranadon

Tetranadon is a large Amphibian Monster found primarily in the Shrine Ruins, Frost Islands, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Thunder, Fire, and Ice elements.

Tetranadon is most powerful when it stands on its back legs after consuming something. While on its back legs, if you attack its belly, you will force it to spit up whatever it swallowed and return to its four legged stance. Its highest damage moves are its jumps, if you see it leap into the air, you can use your wirebug to quickly evade out from underneath where it will land.
