Today’s Special: Hunter Flambe Optional Quest Monster Hunter World Iceborne
Our next Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is the quest, Today’s Special: Hunter Flambe. We’re off to hunt a Deviljho in the Ancient Forest. You’ll unlock this quest after completing the Special Assignment: The Food Chain Dominator and after you’ve found the Pink Rathian in the storyline quests.
Partner, we’re part of the food chain too if you think about it. And that’s bad news for us if a Deviljho gets a hankering for a hunter burger! So, let’s hunt it down before we’re lunch!
The Handler – Monster Hunter World Iceborne
This quest puts multiple monsters that Deviljho can interact with on the map at the same time as him. You can encounter Great Jagras, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Tobi-Kadachi, and Bazelgeuse in this quest. The first 3 names he will have a unique interaction with where he picks them up and carries them in his mouth before throwing them at you. It does significant damage to the monster he throws. If it kills the monster he will then eat it afterward. Deviljho also has the unique ability to eat its own tail if you cut it off and leave it on the ground for too long.
Be mindful that some of this attacks inflict the Defense Down status, as well as Dragon blight. The combination of these two defence lowering abilities coupled with its very damaging Dragon Beam attack while in a rage, can make this fight quite dangerous if you are not careful. Bring Nulberries to negate the status afflictions.
Deviljho is weak to every element but primarily to Thunder and Dragon. Its weak points are the head and belly. You can break or sever its head, belly, and tail.
