A Friend In Need – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 3-Star Hub Quest, A Friend In Need. We’re off to the Lava Caverns to hunt a Tigrex. You’ll find the location of the Tigrex highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
My Popo, Posey, is my best friend. She helps me every day and is the sweetest companion I’ve ever had. A Tigrex was spotted along my trade route and you know what they do to Popo…Hunter, please. I can’t lose Posey. If I lose her, I lose everything!
Monster Hunter Rise
Tigrex is a Flying Wyvern Class Monster found in the Frost Islands, Sandy Plains, and Lava Caverns. It is weak to Thunder, Dragon, and Water elemental damage.
Tigrex can be a similar fight to Barioth. He is very fast and hits like a truck. Where Barioth likes to leap all over the place, Tigrex will instead charge. When not in a rage he will charge up to twice in a row, performing a swift turn at the end to realign with wherever your hunter happens to be. While in a rage he can instead charge up to three times in a row.
The key to hunting Tigrex is to simply let him tire himself out with his constant charging attacks. Once he becomes ‘exhausted’ he’ll be much easier to deal with and leave himself open to far more attacks. You’ll know he’s like this as he will stop for prolonged periods while panting and drooling.
Take note that his charges can go an incredible distance, so always move to his sides instead of simply running away from him.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a Low-Rank Tigrex can include; Tigrex Shell, Tigrex Scale, Tigrex Claw, Tigrex Fang, Tigrex Tail, Tigrex Scalp, and Wyvern Tear.
