The Swirling Gale – Monster Hunter Rise
Our next quest in Monster Hunter Rise is the 4-Star Hub Quest, The Swirling Gale. We’re off to the Shrine Ruins to slay a Great Izuchi. You’ll find the location of the Great Izuchi highlighted on the map so he’ll be no issue to track down.
For crying out loud! I moved near the Shrine Ruins because it was a nice and quiet neighborhood… Now there’s a Great Izuchi and its little gang making a ruckus. I tried to give ’em a piece of my mind but they pulled their blades on me! Hunter, please get rid of ’em!
Monster Hunter Rise
Great Izuchi is a large Bird Wyvern found primarily in the Shrine Ruins and Frost Islands. It is weak to Water, Thunder, Fire, and Ice elements.
Welcome to High-Rank! Up first is our old friend the Great Izuchi. Monsters in High-Rank will have higher Health Pools and higher attack damage. You’ll also obtain new materials by defeating them to forge High-Rank gear, which will be far better than its Low-Rank counterparts.
You’ve fought Great Izuchi a few times by now so this shouldn’t be much of an issue. Just remember that all the gather points you’ll come across now spawn High-Rank Materials as well so take the time to mine or gather from any that you pass. Great Izuchi will still attack you with two smaller Izuchi that will mirror his attacks, dispatch them first and then focus your attacks on the big boy.
You can find our complete guide on fighting the Great Izuchi from Monster Hunter Rise here.
We cover all its weaknesses, attack patterns, and material drops.
Carves, Drops, and Rewards for slaying a High-Rank Great Izuchi can include; Great Izuchi Hide +, Great Izuchi Pelt +, Great Izuchi Tail +, Screamer Sac, Monster Bone +, Bird Wyvern Gem, Wyvern Tear, and Large Wyvern Tear.
